I see. You’re suggesting that the folks that sent him there did so because their injured pride and lack of maturity required that they seek a daddy figure to highlight their insecurities on a grand scale?
You do realize when throwing a grenade into a kiddy pool full of turds there's no way to just make the libtard turds stick to the walls, correct? The crazy insane right wing turds are also blown from the pool.
As the post by Gunnar immediately prior to this one so accurately points out, Trump was no grenade, but just another large turd. And if you think that he wasn’t ‘a politician’ as defined by behavior, you were wrong then, and you’re wrong now as defined by resume.

This is the second post in the past 24rs that someone has talked about "lack of maturity" when talking about people who tend to lean conservative. I find it funny you guys believe that. Believing the "otherside" isn't mature because they don't believe what you do is laughable. There's lots of smart, mature and we'll intentionef people on both sides of the isle, if you don't think so then your still operating from a cult mentality big guy!
Interesting. I made no mention at all of anyone’s political leanings. You must be drawing some subconsciously-sourced connections for some reason or another.

However, a turd whose stinkiness was off the scale on the Stink-o-Meter.

I think you guys are missing the point. Trump was voted in because he is a narcissist, asshole and a prick. And the people who voted him in love him for it. He wasn't sent to Washington to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, he was sent there because he has the personality that can handle an onslaught of negative media coverage and not feel intimidated when the intolerant progressive shithead's start spewing there hatred.
I don't see anyone missing that point. I am aware many people believed these kind of things like draining the swamp. Not really a new promise, but the question maybe should be why people were dumb enough to believe these kind of things about Trump. I never followed Trump much in the decades before he ran for office, but I could easily see he was dishonest and probably corrupt. When he started to run for office we even learned more things that should have sent up red flags like his connections to the Russians. Republicans would have gone bat crap crazy if Hillary had half these connections. Same thing if Hillary had meet with Putin without a US translator. You only do that if you don't want anyone loyal to the US hearing the conversation.

Reality is that racism played a major role in Trump's ascendancy to President. It's not that most Republicans are major racists or that no democrats hold racist views, but it is a much bigger problem in the republican party from the full on white supremacists to your very soft racists who are nice in public but are uncomfortable with people not like themselves. Trump was smart enough to see he needed the full on racists, who at that time didn't come and vote much because the republican party was not racist enough, and that his signalling to them would not affect many republicans who would still vote republican because they were soft racists or because they always vote republican.
Progressives are like the school yard bully that grows bolder everytime he picks a victim to intimidate and know one calls him on it. Trump is the guy who will stand up and say, "Screw you school yard bully!!" And until the Republicans realize this, or find someone else who can withstand the progressives internal hatred for life, they'll be the cowards who turn away from the bully so they don't have to deal with a serious situation.
I suspect you have a very different definition of what a progressive is, but what is this internal hatred for life?

But Trump didn't just throw a grenade into the "kiddy pool full of turds." He threw in the biggest turd yet!
Trump was just getting rid of some of the other turds/corruption to replace it with even more of his own corruption. Everyone here agrees that Trump is a narcissist, but corruption is something that goes hand in hand with a narcissist. It's all about them and whats in it for them.
