That doesn't seem like enough to me. I think I'd be tempted to go with one per 1K students?
Well, there were four officers not just one. And they hid instead of engaging the assailant.

But your last comment - the one I was responding to - only acknowledged one. There were four cops on the scene. Doesn't really matter if they were already there or arrived during the shots. The fact is four different trained police officers were too afraid to face the shooter.

Kev? Read the thread. I posted about the 4 officers total multiple times here. Steuss was the first to raise the issue of 3 additional deputies on the scene.

Ya, I know I read it. But the point you were making to EA in that last point was that there weren't enough armed guards, and you said that there was only one. My point is that it doesn't matter how many armed guards there are if none of them are willing to do anything when the time comes. Armed guards on duty are 0 for 4 now during mass school shootings.
I will note that Markk didn't answer my question, or rather he sidestepped it. I asked him very pointedly what would he have done in those three scenarios had he been armed. In other words, had he been carryong a gun, say conceal and carry, what would he have done?
I suppose scenario #1 begs the question had that man not had access to guns would it have happened; would he have aggressed on Markk?
