FYI: as an economics major at BYU in the 90s, "open borders" and "NAFTA" were huge right-wing talking points at the time by big right-wing professors. It is common knowledge that:

1. Jews are God’s chosen people
2. The Jewish homeland is Israel
3. The Jews believe in the Old Testament
4. The Old Testament is about Jews
5. The Book of Mormon is about Jews.

Except, none of these things are true.

Nowhere in the Bible does it call Jews God’s chosen people, modern day Israel isn’t really the homeland of the Jews, the Jews don’t believe in the Old Testament, and only about 5% of the people in the Old Testament and Book of Mormon can be considered Jewish.

So, the expression anti-Semite literally means being against Shem, or his descendants. However, being anti-Jewish isn’t the same thing as being anti-Semitic. Let me explain.

Semites are the descendants of a man named Shem, who would father some of the most renowned empires and dynasties such as the Assyrian and Babylonian empires, and even the Persians can call themselves Semites.

So why is it considered anti-Semitic when you say something against the Jews?
