Whiskey creates a thread saying a person who died slung a lot of crap but not enough to deserve dying. This puts me in a trap: If I ask for clarification, to give an example of the crap slinging, I get yelled at and berated. Jersey suggested that I might be able to guess at what Whiskey means, given his posting history here. But historically, when I have done that, when I assume I know what Whiskey is talking about because it seems obvious, I get yelled at for being a "mind reader". So this time, I figured I'd ask Whiskey what he meant rather than read his mind. And look at the result, the berating was worse than if I would have just done the mind reading.
Rinse and repeat.

And now after the thread is dying down, he's loading another trap...
And now he's doing it again. De-escalating to be less dickish may be the motto of his book, but it's the exact opposite of how he posts.

You are free to answer Gad's questions. Also, nobody is hallucinating what you think because nobody gives a damn.

Also. Show me where I complain about being misunderstood. Can ya? Or, did I tell some hallucinator to get wrecked for lying?
Ban Whiskey permanently if that's the only way.

Few directors had an initial run quite like him (This Is Spinal Tap, The Sure Thing, Stand by Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, Misery, A Few Good Men...).

I will probably dust off The Princess Bride this weekend to pay homage to him. Maybe this will be the time I can finally get my son to make it all of the way through. An incredibly talented director and storyteller.

People like Trump don’t go to prison. They have both the money and the requisite number of morally compromised obsequious servants and sycophantic grifters standing by in the wings to make sure that’ll never happen.
A better description of the Roberts Supreme Court you will not find.
I'm finding it increasingly hard to avoid sharing that same opinion about the Roberts Supreme Court myself. It seems that the long-running, immoral Scheme for weaponizing the Supreme Court and turning it into the fully owned tool of ultra-right conservative, religiously motivated billionaire oligarchs, that Sheldon Whitehouse has so meticulously documented and diligently been warning us about, has spectacularly and tragically been successful. Trump, himself, is the most notorious and convincing and most recent evidence of that. At least the Trump appointees, if not all of the conservative members of The Court, seem to be anti-democracy, anti-individual-freedom authoritarians whose virtually sole concern is to further enhance the wealth and power of the already wealthiest, most powerful minority at the expense of the middle classes and the most disadvantaged.
No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

Tip of the hat to actor James Woods, whose politics were very different from Rob Reiner's, for going on Fox News and sticking up for Reiner. He was able to speak respectfully about Reiner's tragic death without casting aspersions or making nasty insinuations.

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/ja ... rcna249484
"When people say horrible things about Rob right now, I find it, quite frankly, infuriating and distasteful," an emotional Woods, 78, told Fox personality Jesse Watters.

"Did I agree with his politics? I did not. Did I love him as a friend, as an artist, as an icon of Hollywood and as a patriot? I most certainly did. And I am just absolutely devastated by this terrible event, especially for his family."

Woods was nominated for best supporting actor in the 1996 movie "Ghosts of Mississippi," directed by Reiner and also starring Alec Baldwin and Whoopi Goldberg.

"I knew Rob Reiner because at a very, very down point in my career, Rob literally saved my career and really put me back on track in a way that was so important and rewarding in my life," Woods said. "He really fought for me when the studio didn't want me in a movie."

Nailed it. Not a more concise nutshell than that one.
Religion is for people whose existential fear is greater than their common sense. It's also the favored cover for hypocrites.

The god idea is popular with desperate people.

Regarding item 1, who here discloses every thought?

Regarding item 2, any examples?

Thought so.

Excerpt from PEOPLE.
Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner were found dead in their bedroom, a source with knowledge of the homicide investigation confirms to PEOPLE.

"They were found where they were murdered," a source clarifies to PEOPLE.

The couple's son, Nick Reiner, 32, is expected to face two counts of first-degree murder with a special circumstance that he used a deadly weapon, such as a knife, to commit the killings, Los Angeles Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced on Dec. 16.

The charges carry a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole or the death penalty, if convicted.

Nick is currently being held without bail in Los Angeles' Men's Central Jail. The suspect was expected to appear in Los Angeles court earlier on Tuesday but did not show since he has not been medically cleared, his defense attorney, Alan Jackson, told reporters outside the courthouse.

Once medically cleared, Nick is expected to be transported to court to be arraigned and enter a plea, Hochman said.

Rob, 78, and his wife, Michele, 70, were found dead in their Los Angeles home on Sunday, Dec. 14, by their daughter, Romy, multiple sources close to the family told PEOPLE.

Police said Nick was arrested without incident around 9:15 p.m. on Sunday — about six hours after the Los Angeles Fire Department said it was called to the Brentwood home to provide medical aid around 3:30 p.m.

Rob and Michele's cause and time of death have not been made public by authorities. Hochman told reporters Tuesday that investigators are still awaiting autopsy results.

If Nick happens to disclose (ice cube chance in hell) the details of the murders, investigators will take that and the forensics (position of wounds, blood spatters, etc.) and match the results with any confessed details. Good thing they won't need the perpetrator to disclose. The results of the investigation will be pieced together to recreate the crimes and that's what they'll use to bang his ass into prison for life without the possibility of parole. Which in my opinion is just and fitting for these offenses.
