What the ____ is he wearing the ball cap for now? Is this his "real guys roll up their sleeves and get to work" look? He'll be wearing scrubs by next week.

I am not watching this, but I skipped to a middle section and it was just Trump going on and on and on taking credit for the stock market rally yesterday.

He was talking about the coronavirus prior to that. He's a complete ass.

nope..the lesson here is clear. Do you also require anecdotal evidence?

I suppose you looked at the links to two easily available online listings in this post that came a little after yours:

viewtopic.php?p=1220202#p1220202

Both suggest that the US has a somewhat smaller number of hospital beds per 1000 population than Italy. Perhaps you are getting the US mixed up with some other country?

I'd like to find a way of believing that you are neither:

(a) A lying piece of ****
nor
(b) Just pulling figures out of your ****.

Can you help me with that?

NBC is reporting the CDC wanted to recommend that everyone 60 or over remain in their homes whenever possible, but the Trump admin overruled them and prevented that recommendation from being made.

Sounds kinda bad if true.

I think you mean the OECD in that case.

Hey, if you have evidence that the US more than quadrupled its hospital bed per capita capacity in the past 3 years, by all means, share it. Better yet, share the source of your claim. You can go to whatever legtimate statistical source you want. They all point to Italy having more beds and doctors per capita than the US does. So source your claim. Were you lying or lied to?

It's more complex than this regardless - hospital beds are a crude measure of response capacity and accessibility of health care resources - but it's your false claim under discussion. I'll again just note that northern Italy has an excellent health care system and it is being run into the ground. This doesn't prove that "blargh, socialism is bad." It proves that the threat you keep trying to downplay is serious and risks causing a medical disaster in a matter of weeks if not days. We don't have that kind of surge capacity either.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/14/health/c ... index.html

New studies in several countries and a large coronavirus outbreak in Massachusetts bring into question reassuring assertions by US officials about the way the novel virus spreads.

These officials have emphasized that the virus is spread mainly by people who are already showing symptoms, such as fever, cough or difficulty breathing. If that's true, it's good news, since people who are obviously ill can be identified and isolated, making it easier to control an outbreak.

Is this true? I thought it was common knowledge people could be infected and be asymptomatic for up to ~15 days...
