This is full on Reichstag fire: using an incidence of violence as an excuse to crack down on political opponents, including groups dedicated to protecting fundamental civil rights of American citizens. This tactic was not a one-off by Hitler. Issuing violence as a pretext to take away freedom and persecute opponents is typical of authoritarians. I’ve seen either the tweet you posted or one similar to it. The Proud Boys used to be into pseudo psy-op crap. Frankly, it makes more sense to me that Tarrio is trying to encourage violence against ICE as a “trap.” But that is a major problem with law enforcement cosplaying paramilitary thugs.
