I’ve noticed that many of these so-called “experts” featured in these documentaries have a severe case of Hitler Derangement Syndrome. It’s like they’re so obsessed with how “evil” Hitler was that they lose all perspective and objectivity. My question is, where’s the nuance?

It would be interesting to explore the matter further and find out who is copying who.

If someone is getting in your face 24/7 with hyperbolic rhetoric and threats and complaints, and then you react, you're the one who is deranged. But it's a common tactic starting right at the schoolyard. As soon as you react, either you have the problem, or "it's both sides!"

They ain’t reading ‘all that’. This has been my chief complaint for years now; you see it with various posters here linking crap they either didn’t read or couldn’t comprehend because they don’t understand the formal language being used. Or worse, they just skim over thoughtfully crafted posts.

Sometime around the end of the Subgenius era, I gave up on thoughtfully crafted posts after too many times of watching ‘the other side’ be unwilling or unable to engage with anything much more than obfuscation or avoidance.

Now I usually just compress the gist of any planned response down to 3% of the original volume, and convert it to snark.

Weird. Trump made the "very fine people on both sides" comment AFTER THE CAR ATTACK in Charlottesville. The attack happened because a self-avowed white supremacist drove his car into a crowd of counter-protesters who showed up when it was discovered LITERAL NEO-NAZIS, white nationalists, and members of the Ku Klux Klan were present. Those guys chanted slogans like "Jews will not replace us" and carried NAZI symbols, Confederate flags, and other white nationalist insignia.
