Whose brain child was daylight savings time? Is there some reason that businesses, etc., couldn't just change their schedule to reflect Fall and Spring hours instead of turning poor creatures like myself into zombies?

Go ahead, Shades...correct the word "whose" I'm sure I used it wrong but I seriously cannot think thanks to daylight savings time.

i don't remember the original idea, but by changing the time, it makea an hour more of daylight in the evening and lessens the amount of electricity used by quite a large number since people are up during the bright portions of the day.

You could move to Arizona Jersey Girl. They don't subscribe to the whole daylight savings thing. You also don't have to let your kids spend two weeks studying Martin Luther King, since they don't celebrate Martin Luther King day either.

No need to correct anything. You used it right.

Hi There! Well, I don't really disagree with Daylight Saving Time, however, I think that moving Daylight Saving Time, from the first Sunday in April to the second Sunday in March was a pretty dumb and lame idea. With Daylight Saving time now starting this early, we are going to have some of the school children walking to school in the dark. The Sunrise for Salt Lake City tomorrow, is not until 7:44 am, so it will still mostly be dark there at 7:00 am. However, the sunrise for Salt lake City is at 7:10 am for April 2nd of this year, which still should be the date this when we (except for Arizona and Hawaii) switch to Daylight Saving Time. The states of Arizona and Hawaii do Not observe Daylight Saving Time. Arizona and Hawaii are the only two state that do not observe Daylight Saving Time. I am now dwelling within the State of Arizona.

I'm waiting for an Al Gore type to come out and claim that these added daylight hours are contributing to Global Warming.

Blame Ben Franklin.
Ben Franklin was the Devil and I'm sleep deprived because of him! Wasn't he supposed to be allegedly wise? How wise is it to have zoned out drivers on the road and people operating assembly line machinery and meat cutters who are incoherent?
Or posters on message boards who appear to be out of their minds...but how would you know the difference, eh?
