JAPAN

I have a sudden strong and possibly irrational desire to return to Japan and stay there for about a month.
(I went on a mission to japan)
I can afford the airfare (barely) but I don't have a place to stay (I'd sleep on the street if I thought I could get away with it).
Any ideas?

I see that sometimes they are called youth hostels. I'm kinda old. Would that be a problem?

Bus Terminals, Subway Stations, Park Benches. Ask your neighborhood hobo, they'll be full of good ideas and cheap liquor.

See if an old mission companion could hook ya up?
See if an old family / friend would be willing to put up with you.
Volunteer to teach English / math / physics in return for a place to stay?
Build a giant robot and take over the world?

I have dear friends that live in Japan. On Hyama Beach. I don't know you.... you may be a crazy. Know anyone that knows anyone?

I'm going back next year with the whole family.

You could always take a tent and camp out. :)

Put on lots of eyeliner and hang out in Harajuku?

Check out a site like hostels.com. There's not typically an age limitation for most hostels.

by the way - I'd hate to see what you consider "kinda old." What, like 25? :)
