It's a large problem:

Drink, eat, go to the toilet, sleep? Not when virtually there's pimping to be had, policemen to be shot and monsters to be slain. Playing computer games may be sedentary, but that doesn't mean it's not extreme.

In internet-obsessed South Korea, hardcore gamers have been pushing themselves to their mortal limits in their quest for points. A man dropped dead at his screen in December after playing continuously for

a marathon 10 days. That eclipsed the stamina of the previous victim, who died after two days in the chair in August last year. Another South Korean died in 2002 after 86 hours of non-stop playing.

Dr Andrew Campbell, a University of Sydney specialist in cyberpsychology, says their deaths may have been caused by sitting in front of a flickering screen for too long, which can trigger a seizure. "They might have been prone to epilepsy, they might have been prone to seizures, all sorts of things. You can definitely say they're engaged with [playing] to the point where they think it's more important than sleep."

I don't forget to eat, sleep, or go to the bathroom, but I swear I'm going to get that laundry done - Now!
