Jim Croce's I'll Have to Say I Love You in a Song:

KA

ETA: I just read that supposedly, I haven't confirmed it, Croce wrote this song after he and his wife had an argument. He stayed the night in the basement and wrote her this song, serenading her with it the next morning. How romantic! It's too bad he died so young.

Thanks for posting that Steuss !

Ha! I was in a band called The Asthmatics around 1998-2001. We actually had a song that was essentially about the demise of 103.5 and 91.1 (I don't know if you remember when 91.1 had Rock n' Roll Avenue and other programs [before it pretty much became nothing but Jazz]), called "The Radio Is Dead."

That was the greatest radio station to ever grace the airwaves.

K, well I heard this yesterday and hadn't heard it for years and thought I'd post it. 'Cause I'm a big time liar just like Ms. Pointer. :)

For the only man that has ever made me lose my cool and hyperventilate. :)

Steuss,

Yeh, I remember that 91.1 was the only station in town that played true punk rock music. It was on late at night, and everyone looked forward to the show.

103.5 was great , and they had the best morning show until they decided to try to put Mancow on the air. They never recovered from that mismanagement.

Ha. A lot of people hate this era of The Rolling Stones. I actually like it. Miss You is one of the best not-disco-disco-songs ever written. I also like the stuff on Emotional Rescue a lot (Dance Pt. 1 and the title track). My favorite Rolling Stones songs are the ones written starting with Beggar's Banquet and ending with Exile On Main Street. That, for me, is the golden era of Rock 'n Roll.
