I have recently become a huge fan of the 2002 series Firefly. I'm about halfway through the TV series and am eagerly awaiting the chance to watch the movie Serenity.

Well the point of this post is to let other fans of the series know that th elead actor from Firefly, Nathan Fillian, will be appearing in a new show on ABC entitled Castle. The show premieres Monday March 9th at 10pm.

heres a link: Castle

Many of you may already know that Summer Glau, who played the character River Tam, can currently be seen on the series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles as the Terminator robot named Cameron Phillips. The toughest 5'6'' at 90 pounds to ever walk the earth

The wonderful Jewel Staite, who played the character Kaylee Frye, is currently seen on the show Stargate Atlantis as Dr. Jennifer Keller. She looks like she'd make a great Mormon.

For those of you unaquainted with the joy that was Firefly, episodes can now be seen for free on Hulu: just Click Here. Be sure to scroll down and watch the episodes in correct order so you can follow the storyline.

I never saw Firefly but I have seen Serenity. It was....decent. I think it's the type of movie in which one would have to be a sci fi fan like us to appreciate it. That's just the way sci fi movies are; hard to find really good ones. You might appreciate it more as a Firefly fan, but then again, you might like it less because it might not be faithful to your vision. Hopefully I didn't ruin it for you?

Nathan Fillian also had a role in the brilliant "Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Blog" written and directed by Joss Whedon, the creator of Firefly.

If in need of a laugh, watch it online: http://drhorrible.com/

I never did get "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog." Just what's the appeal, anyway?

Someone please help me out here.

I made it halfway through the first episode before I had to turn it off because the family thought I was too loud.

I laughed at a few spots, I liked the gold bricks turning into mush because the "evil genius's" machine didn't work. He writes it off because "its the stealing of the gold that was the real accomplishment" obviously lying.

Channel your inner nerd and its more enjoyable.

I was one of those who watched the Serenity movie before seeing Firefly and I couldn't understand what the hype was (my Kids loved the show, and they bought the movie and insisted my husband and I watch it.)

As a SCIFI fan, I thought it was fine, but I wasn't much impressed. Then, my kids bought the Firefly series and they practically forced us to sit down and watch it. After two episodes, I was hooked--unfortunately there were only about 15 episodes in all. I loved the series and I think that if I'd seen the series first, I would have appreciated the Movie much more.

So, my advice is watch the series!!! I have loaned it out to a number of people and they've all been converted--even non SCIFI types have loved it.

Also, for serious fans, you should watch the series "Outlaw Star"--an Anime series from a number of years ago. Edited versions of the show were on Cartoon Network(I think) a few years ago. If you watch it, you'll see where Joss Whedon got the inspiration for Firefly.

On hulu.com, the episodes are numbered differently from their air dates.

Should I watch the episodes in air date order, or the episode number as delinated by hulu.com?

OK, the air dates were seriously messed up.

Joss Whedon was havign a minor war with FOX over the show. Fox didn't like the way the captain acted, didn't like the fact that the show was filmed in widescreen, etc.. etc..

The pilot that took the time to introduce all of the charatcers (also named serenity, but its not the movie) was not shown first, so viewers of the new show were dumped into ep.2 without any introduction as to who the characters or their motivations were.

The HULU order is the correct order. Its the order from the DVD collection as approved by the creator. itunes also had to correct their order after fans complained.

Three episodes left to watch, and then I see the movie.
