Good Vibes, Prayers needed....

I have an interview Friday. The job sounds good, is in a good location, I'm familiar with the company, it's contract to hire, and it has good pay.

I need to go back to work. My health is S_L_O_W_L_Y improving, but I can't wait to get 100% better. Between these inane doctors and our overall healthcare system, it could take years.

That, and I just can't take not being able to provide for my son anymore. We've recieved so much help, and I'm grateful for it...but I want to be able to do some things on my own. I've been working full-time since I graduated, and I just am not used to sitting at home. When this fridge goes empty, or little man runs out of something, I want the assurance that I'll be able to get it. I don't have that right now. Charity is a beautiful thing, but outside of my experience with being a mother, the charity I had access to always had a catch, and it always went but so far.

Everything I have in this house for my son has come from someone else. It's a beautiful thing but... It's time for me to step up. I hope I can.

I'm definitely sending good thoughts and prayers your way!

Email me if you need me to take a look at your resume. I also have a list of the top 10 interview questions and buzz words that might give you a little extra advantage.

I know you'll do great in the interview. You have a lot of experience, and you are a very bright young lady.

It's definitely the company's loss if they pass you over.

Quick...how would you determine the weight of an airplane without using a scale...? How many Mars bars can fit in a semi trailer....?

If it's been a while since you've interviewed, you should definitely spend some time perusing the internet and reading sample interview questions and mentally think of how you would answer. It's getting so competitive out there, interviewers have a much harder job weeding out the qualified from the very desperate (but not qualified).

I used to get a couple hundred resumes for entry-level job postings, but my last posting netted 1000+! And that was months ago. I don't want to imagine what kind of response I'd get now!

I hope it goes well for you; if you have experience and are qualified, you should do really well.

Thanks for the offer, Liz. I appreciate it and I emailed you. :-)

Cinepro, in my last job I was specifically asked for, and the one before that I interviewed for. Got the job that day, it was funny because my cousin worked in the same department, but as an actual federal employee. He didn't influence my boss's decision, but he knew I got the job before I did...LOL he called my mom and aunt, and they knew before I got home.

I enjoyed both jobs, so I'm counting on a good reference. I still visit both places from time to time.

I'm not nervous (yet). I think I interview pretty well. The challenge will be managing my health. But I'll just have to eat well, rest well (Steve will make sure of that, he's such a good daddy), and make sure to stay on top of my doctor's visits. I'm not sure when I should explain my health situation though, should I be hired. But we'll play it by ear.

Little Steve gets shots tomorrow! Eeek!

If asked what your greatest weakness is look at them with a serious expression on your face and say, "Kryptonite."
