I don't get into the MMA. I'm afraid Mild-Mannered Accountants don't thrill me too much.

I'm usually sports agnostic. But for some reason I love to watch the UFC. Record them all the time and watch them with amazement.

A lot of it is PPV. But there is a website that you join
www.mma-tv.netYou can watch stream of fights from all over the world and all different promotions. Deep, Dream, and Shooto are all really good organizations from Japan. StrikeForce (ShowTime) has some names that you may know, WEC is owned by the same company that owns the UFC, but is reserved for smaller fighters (125-145lbs weight classes) and that is on Versus Channel, and King of the Cage is the Triple A of MMA, you have probably never heard of most of their guys, but you can find some good fights there. There are a ton of others. If you like the hype and show of the UFC, (which I admit I am guilty of) you might not like some of the other companies. If you enjoy the sport, you'll be able to get over the part about you not being able to understand what the guys calling the fight are saying. There is a lot of real talent out there, especially in Japan, that will never fight in the States

excellent!
My daughter-in-law is born/raised in Tokyo (living in my home at present), she loves to watch with me. I'll have to find some of the real Japanese ones.
There was a Japanese fighter on UFC one night, lighter weight fight … He started out with some flying kick thing from across the “octagon” at the word “fight/do it”. The other guy hit him hard in the face … mid air … and then commenced with a heavy duty “ground and pound”, the fight was over in 13 seconds.
There really is nothing quite like this sport; the rare split decision (actually the rare full match) … killer fights, the near snuffing out of life in a choking submissions, the facial expressions of pain on arm/leg bar types of submissions, the brutal ground and pounds, the intense high kick to the head … instant drop KO’s, bloody stand-up toe-to-toe fist/knee/elbow throwing, the butt ugly tattoos, basically no holds barred brawls.
Good stuff!

I can't wait to see UFC aquire the contract with Emelianenko Fedor. Fedor against Lesnar is going to be awesome. I think Lesnar wil have one or two fights before then.
Fedor vs. Lesnarp.s.: Is it true Fedor signed with strikeforce? That would really suck

I hate to be the one to let you know, but yes, Fedor signed with StrikeForce. They are trying to hype him v Overeem up to be something where anything can happen and its just not. The UFC offered him 30 million for 6 fight. He said fine, then the company that he is under contract with (M-1) said oh by the way, you have to co-promote shows with us. Dana White said no, and that was that. Maybe one day. Lesnar, Mir, Couture, a HW Anderson Silva. There are a number of good fights for him there. Hopefully it will happen sooner then later. I don't want to see a prime Lesnar trash a washed up Fedor in 5 years.
P.s. Randleman could have killed him with that suplex had he decided he wanted too.

I agree, a tired Fedor against a prime Lesnar would really stink. As much as I want Lesnar to succeed he really does have a villianous edge to him, and Fedor is the Emperor of MMA who needs to set things aright in his kingdom.
Why didn't he just go to UFC in the first place? Was the Heavyweight division there just too thin when the time came?
In regards to the suplex, there was a show on recently, I think it was the history channel, where two guys went around the world and studied martial arts in their country of origin. They went to Fedors gym to talk about Russian Sambo fighting and fought one of his students. I noticed that part of their training involves gymnastic tumbling, so that they can learn to be thrown around a mat I would suppose. Part of that tumbling was flipping onto ones head and shoulders on the mat, which immediately made me think of that famous suplex that Fedor seemed to be unphased by.
