On this day, we remember the lies John Kerry told about our veterans...

[American troops] "...had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Ghengis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam..." and accused the U.S. military of committing war crimes "on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command."

Do you have to drag politics into this discussion? Good God, you're a one-note wonder.

If you don't have a veteran to thank, then shut the “F” up.

I have to say, BC, I'm disappointed in your post here. This is a tribute thread honoring military veterans. Can't you put the politics aside, and simply acknowledge and celebrate the fine job these past and present veterans are doing for our country?

May the Lord bless our troops!

You may not like what Kerry said but those things did happen. Most troops didn't do those things, but they did happen. War brings out the worst in some who also see it as an opportunity to do every rotten thing they have ever thought of while others serve and do their time hoping what they do helps their nation, their fellow man and the country they are in at the time. For every scumbag we have hundreds of good soldiers. Dedicated men and women who are doing a difficult job that is way too often not supported by the jerks that send them in harms way.

I don't think sticking up for them in this fashion is unreasonable. Especially after you've elected someone similar to John Kerry who already is dishonoring the troops.

Only if you're a selective post reader.

If you don't have a veteran to thank, then shut the f*** up.

I thank them by serving them.

What makes you think they were lies?

Six McDoubles to go and hold the polemics. However the Vikings at table
nine were looking for a little defense on the charge of pillaging, raping and
generally chopping up the villagers with a broad-ax.

Oh, really? How, exactly? Did I censor you? No. I never even edited your posts. If you will notice, I split the thread very carefully. ALL political material was placed in this thread. I also placed a link to this thread so people following the conversation could easily find it. If I was being "Mad-Mod like", I would have censored your posts and suspended you or banned you without bothering to email or PM you as to why....and all simply because you pissed me off.

The big difference between how I, and the other Moderators operate here, BC, is that everything is above board, and everyone knows, flat-out, who all of the Moderators are. Yes, I disagreed with you while "speaking as a man", but that had nothing to do with my Moderator decisions, and I resent the fact that you think that it did. You have known me for quite some time, and although we have had our differences, I thought you knew me better than that.

The reasons that thread was split were EXACTLY the reasons listed. I don't beat around the bush. I don't BS.

Again, in case your reading comprehension skills have waned, the reason the thread was split was as follows:

As per the board rules, topics which do not have some reference to Mormonism, such as political threads, should be started in the Off Topic section.

The Veteran's Day post, as a celebratory thread, was given special consideration based on the nature of the thread, itself.

Continued political debate involving past Presidential candidates, our current President, and military policies, need to be continued on the other thread..

What is there, BC, about my spelled out reasoning, that does not make sense to you?

Did I ask you to? If I had wanted you to "take your toys and run home bawling", I wouldn't have blatantly posted a link to this thread, nor would I have openly encouraged the political conversation to continue, which it has.
