I know that we have many parts of the world represented on this board. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I'd like to know what's on the menu, please.

For me and mine:

Appetizer course:
relish tray of pickle varieties and olives
sausage and cheese in wonton wrappers

Main course:
turkey, sage dressing, and giblet gravy
mashed potatoes with sour cream and parsley
green beans with bacon bits and minced onion

Salads:
cranberry pineapple jello salad
pomegranite and apple salad
green salad with assorted dressings

Homemade rolls, wheat and white, with butter

Dessert:
chocolate cheese cake
pumpkin pie with whipped cream
apple pie with vanilla ice cream
orange cranberry upsidedown cake

We'll be feeding 26. We're having the dinner at my son's ward building, because my mother in law lives in a skilled nursing home and cannot be transported the one-hour one-way trip to my home. So we managed to book the ward building from 11 to 2 so she can come. We'll be out of there before the next family group comes in at 3.

Unfortunately, I am one who completely despises Thanksgiving. Still, I will share the following of which I (for the first time in literal years/decades/light years/eons) am cooking not one ounce! Simple stuff:

Turkey
Gravy
Stuffing
Mashed Potatoes
Green Bean Casserole (with the crunchy things on top)
Corn
Yams with marshmallows
Cranberry Sauce
Some sort of rice dish I don't know the name of
Dinner rolls of some sort
Home made (not by me!) Apple pie
Home made (not by me!) Pumpkin Mousse pie

Many Americans, and those married/partnered to Americans (could include Gays too, you know) here celebrate Thanksgiving.

I will however join in the spirit of the festivities by buying some turkey today. I’ve just ordered it:

This is the first Thanksgiving that we're cooking on our own and celebrating in our own home, and it's just the three of us. We're too far away from any of our relatives for visiting; we're in Illinois, mine are in Wasington state and his are in Hawaii.

Here's what I'm making:

Spiced apple bread
Apple pie
Brownies
Lime Jell-O
An 8-lb turkey with stuffing
Turkey gravy
Mashed potatoes
Cheesy green beans
Yams
Cranberry sauce

I actually need to go out and buy some ground nutmeg and ground cinnamon for the pie.

I'm a terrible cook, so wish me luck!

(My 3-year-old daughter is marching around as I type this repeating, "Apple pie! Apple pie! Apple pie!" Heh.)

I love to cook, so even though I'm only cooking for 4 (including the cat), we're having:

Clams/shrimp/maybe oysters
Champagne (Veuve Cliqout)

Gouleyant Cahors Vigouroux

Turkey breast roasted in butter-soaked cheese cloth (The Shroud of Turkin) and basted with lots of butter
Sage stuffing with sweet sausage, celery, onion, green apple and sliced prunes macerated in Madeira
Gravy made from pan-drippings, roux, heavy cream and Madeira

Roasted root vegetables (potatoes, yams, beets, turnips, garlic and leeks)
Steamed green beans with olive oil and lemon zest

Cheese plate: aged Gouda, triple-cream Brie and Stinking Bishop
Kalamata olives
Sliced pears, apples and grapes

Pecan pie

Coffee with Baileys Irish Cream

I’m brining the turkey in a salt apple sage mix right now and trying to prepare everything that I can today.
Here’s what we usually make each year: (only have one sibling and one of my parents coming)

*spinach dip with sourdough bread bowl or artichoke dip for an appetizer along with relish tray of olives, pickled baby corns, pepperchini’s, pickles, etc
sometimes we will do a vegetable dip tray with Hidden Valley ranch dressing dry packet mixed with sour cream

*organic free range turkey
*homemade cranberry relish
*cornbread stuffing with apples, pears, fresh parsley, onion, celery, mushrooms, pecans, etc.

*sweet potatoes with a caramelized brown sugar/pecan butter topping
*creamy mashed potatoes (I use cream cheese in them) with gravy
*fruit salad with pomegranate and fresh whipped cream
*the traditional green bean casserole (fresh beans) with cream of Mushroom sauce and French’s crispy fried onion topping
*homemade buttermilk rolls

*Martinelli’s sparkling cider in a variety of flavors

*a yummy raspberry jello dessert with cream cheese/whipped cream layer, and buttery and sweet pretzel crust on the bottom (it sounds weird but it’s so good)

*homemade berry pie (raspberry and blackberry) with sour cream/whipped cream topping
*fresh apple pie with homemade caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream
*fresh pumpkin pie
*chocolate roll with fresh whipped cream

Personally, I think lasagna for thanksgiving is the way to go. Amazingly, my family disagrees. We're having turkey. (I have a stash of leftover pizza, however!)

I'm going to have to try some of that Wild Turkey whiskey, RAY.

Last night I spilled an entire shot glass of Jack Daniels on my key board during an exchange with DCP and it wiped it out. All I could do was turn the computer off and go to bed. I got a new keyboard today and I'm amazed how fast it types! There isn't any delays between the strokes.

I've only had two shots tonight. maybe one more. I need to think about my liver.

Let's have another shot and toast our good friend, DCP! Hip hip hurray!
