Hello MDB vets.
I am here on a twofold mission:
Shades won't create his own fan page on Facebook, so I think someone should do it for him.
Also, I just wanted to say Happy Holidays. My little booger turns 1 on January 4th. He's tearing up my crap as we speak, but it's all good, because he's been really sick the past week, so he can tear up what he wants, it's much better than him being in and out of the ER. Thought I'd post a pic of him. Don't know why I was blessed with such a cute child, but there it is.
Hope 2010 brings you good things.

Sorry the pic is so big. And please ignore the man's butt in the background, that's the cable guy.

Haha, I survived is exactly right.
Little Man stops traffic, I swear. I took him out in that outfit yesterday to do some last minute shopping, and women were running their carts into shelves because they were staring at him. It was so funny.
I think he's gonna be tall.
We survived his first illness last week. He had a developing ear infection, and woke up on Sunday the 13th feeling kind of warm. We didn't pay it much attention, because after he ate he got up and proceeded to tear the house apart. Monday morning around 3am, he woke up again, but this time with a temp of 103. I took him to the ER, they could find nothing wrong with him. Nothing wrong with me (I got seen, too). We were just both feeling crummy.
Every day that week he woke up with a fever. We just kept giving him tylenol, but each time it wore off, he'd just get the fever back. We took him back to the ER this past Friday, they finally spotted the ear infection and gave him some antibiotics. On Sunday, because he could really keep nothing down all week, he got dehydrated and we had to take him back to the ER. We almost didn't get there by car because our car got stuck in the snow. They tried to give him an IV, and this 22-pound child fought off 4 adults. Two of them were me and Daddy. Man, it was so hard seeing him go through that. He never did get the IV, but after the attempts, he finally started drinking some pedialyte. They let him go home, and he's slowly getting better. Still sleeping a lot, but keeping things down now. The one thing he has done to me the most in this past year is throw up on me. He doesn't do the baby spit up, he does the Exorcist-type vomit. At one point we would change our sheets every three days.
I'm so looking forward to Christmas. I was worried he'd be too sick to enjoy it. But he's getting better. He can say "Mama", "Dada" and "Baba". When he gets pissed at Steve he goes, "Mamamamamama"! (LMAO) He loves Mickey Mouse and the color red. He's finally learning the difference between touching hot things and cold things (coffee versus a tupperware bowl of snow). He loves baths, and has completely un-baby-proofed this house. All of the latches I put on the cabinets he broke. We never bothered with the baby gates, and he can stand up on his tiptoes to reach whatever he wants. Ah, such fun.
Merry Christmas, Jersey Girl and all!

Glad your little one is feeling better. He is soooooo cute! That is funny about the women running their shopping carts into shelves.
My first daughter learned early on that she could get a running start and knock down the baby gate.
