Can I tell you what's sad?

Good news: I got final approval and my green card to go back home to Norway. I am super excited!

Bad news: I have to dispose of all my worldly goods. Everything but what I can fit into two suitcases and some boxes. How does one part with the possessions gained through a lifetime of living?

I am so sad.

I'll be happy to relieve you of any MST3K DVDs you don't want.

Got a list of heavy books you wont be able to pack up? A list would be nice, also could you ask a friend to check them for the smell of fondue? I say ask a friend because you yourself are probably immune to the odor.

First of all, congrats on the green card! I know this has been a long wait for you! I'm sure you're excited. :)

Do you have any family who is staying in the States who might be able to store some things for you?

GP,

Why can't you box up your possessions here and have family members ship the boxes one by one to you overseas? When I moved to Europe, that's exactly what I did.

If it's not worth shipping, then it's not worth keeping or worrying about. Period.

Ah, Stavanger. Never been, but when I do, you will be with me in spirit. What is JWC?

NATO's Joint Warfare Centre

My Grandfather (mother's side) is from there. Had to hide from the Germans in WWII. Lived in the attic. My mom was 7 when they moved to the USA from there after the war.

That is really interesting. I have a friend who has told me of many times his grandpa ran people to Sweden to escape the Germans. Plus, I usually fish off the end of my peninsula, from a German bunker!
