Organized crime: The 'looting' of $11 trillion from the U.S. economyThe New York Times is quoting a spokesman for George Soros as saying that the well-known hedge fund operator is guilty of no wrong-doing in connection with the financial upheaval currently affecting Greece and Europe as a whole.
But Zubi Diamond, author of the powerful new book, Wizards of Wall Street, says the agenda of Soros and other short sellers is clear. Their purpose, he says, is “to loot America and any foreign country which invested in America. Greece was one of them. Iceland was ravaged and annihilated.”
Just another pig (Obama supporter) in the farmhouse.

The trouble is that, if the solution to this is strong regulatory control, then it must be denied so businessmen can be free to pursue any greedy agenda they choose.

There is nothing wrong with strong regulatory control within conservatism so long as it doesn't impede the free market. So here is what is essentially a case of an international trust that needs to be busted ala Theodore Roosevelt. As I recall, Soros poured millions into the 2008 Democratic campaign claiming to be able to affect the election.

Good, we are in agreement.

Are such trusts good if they give to Republican candidates to affect the election outcome? Would this be true of all corporate giving or very large donations?

I am referring to Soro's market manipulation to affect the outcome of the 2008 election. Soro's donations simply validate whose side he was one. I have no idea if such actually worked or not, but he claimed it did. His looting of the US is beyond doubt. Otherwise, I have no problem with the notion of local or national organizations contributing to campaigns.

Seems like we are an imminently lootable people. I know most confidence men rely on the greed of their victims. Take heart it was not Wal-Mart and the Chinese.
So once again, as long as donations are to Republicans, then such accusations are unwarranted and should be labeled wild eyed and irresponsible. I think this was mentioned in Newt's handbook.

Yes. Enough of the electorate believed his lies and/or did not suspect the media coverup to elect Obama.

Wal-Mart and (ironically) the Chinese are good examples of capitalism which blesses our nation immeasurabley.

As I recall, the Democrats took the most in corporate donations last election.

That's perhaps the dumbest thing I've heard in years.... sorry, but its true. You obviously have no clue what Wal-Mart has done to thsi country.

They have successfully captured what, 15% of the retail market? And all the while holding off unionization. That's a great thing; a true model of business success and a great benefit to "this" country. Perhaps they are near to being "trust busted" (another conservative principle), but not yet I think.
Back to Soros; I have little problem with him making billions as long as it was on the up. But to have him profit so successfully and then participate in the rape and pillage of the greatest, fairest, and most just economic system the world has ever known, all the while contributing dollars to those who would do the same and demand that middle-class America pay for out of their own pockets when he himself has millions more he could to donate to better causes without significantly affecting his bottom line is a prime example of standard left-wing criminal hypocrisy.
