What is that, the SUN?

While folks back east have enjoyed their Spring daffodills and dogwoods, we here at 7800ft continued to plow and shovel our way out day after day after day after day after day after day after day after day after day after day after day...

Winter around here is a tricky thing. It begins with the first snow in October and leaves you feeling so excited. You make a fire and watch a new blanket of white begin to cover your forest. If you live in a forest, that is. By December you know it will be another Currier and Ives Christmas, the trees sparkle with lights and flakes.

But after that is when it starts to set in. The feeling of being trapped. January/Feb is ripe for cabin fever. By March, you're beginning to feel just a bit suicidal. By April you're looking for implements with which to follow through or die of sheer boredom.

So for that last two months, I've been mentally near death. Until today when I opened my eyes and blinding light seared through my pupils.

What is that, the SUN????????

OMG! Spring is here in my forest! And I'm not dead! How cool is that?

Yes, I'm posting this. Live with it.
