Mainstream Republicans swept away

The Mainstream Republicans are getting swept away by their newer, more conservative and ravenous challengers. It is very akin to the Old Guard of the Wiemar Republic being swept away in the elections by the upstart young brown shirts. They could seize the American Republic and ride its wildly different interpretation of the Constitution into a new thousand year reign. Perhaps two or three years from now we, could hear President Palin telling the throngs about the Rules of Blood and Iron that are eternally the same (except perhaps for Mormons).

So what's your point Moksha? Even if a few bad eggs got the party nod, that is really no reason for breaking out the Gewürztraminer, is it?

Actually, as a conservative, I can think of a few similarities between this election cycle and the rise of the Third Reich. First of all, we have a country in a financial crisis. Then we have people like Glenn Beck convincing everyone that our current culture is decadent, and calling for a return for the "good old days." All we need now is some young conservative to rise to power for the 2012 election, capturing the people's hearts with his speeches, and we should be well on our way.

Hi Moksha,
Are you mainly referring to the recent Delaware Senate Primary where Tea Party favorite Christie O'Donnell defeated Moderate GOP Congressman Mike Castle? I can mostly see why the Republican voters would vote for Christie O'Donnell over Congressman Mike Castle, since Mike Castle was only eight among GOP Members of Congress who voted for Cap and trade.
Please Check Out And See:

Sue Lowden had a much better chance to clearly kick Harry Reid out of office, and Sue Lowden is a Conservative without being as far right as Sharron Angle is.

Luckily our society has a low tolerance for brownshirt style intimidation.

Today the Delaware election, tomorrow as Sarah Palin's running mate. (I have to admit I do find her theories on Alien mind control most intriguing). Newt was far from the only one capable of taking out a contract on America. This lady is a sharp shooter!

Christine O’Donnell will likely have to win the Delaware Senate race to be serous considered as a running mate for Sarah Palin. And I don't think that Christine O’Donnell will win the Delaware Senate race since the recent
Polls have her down by 15 and 16 Percentage Points. However, Christine O’Donnell is for sure a very attractive and a very cute Lady.

As German National Socialism was unambiguously a phenomena of the Left, and rose to prominence as an ideology in tandem and coordination with the other two major manifestations of leftist thought, socialism and fascism, it continues to astound that modern "liberals" can, with straight face, compare conservatism, which is a major modern school of classical liberalism, with Nazism, which was the avowed enemy of everything conservatism believes and promotes.
The Popular Front was, without doubt (save perhaps for the present ideology of AGW), the single greatest propaganda victory (and rape of the collective Western intellect) in all of modern history.

Fascism and its need for a strong man to run things by demanding unquestioning obedience, and giving praise to the masses by telling them of their special heritage and mission is about as right-wing as you get.
