I'm sure he's a nice man, but certainly not someone you would want as Pres. (even though we had two doses). If you voted for W. and the Republican Congress you can't complain about the economy with out being hypocritical.

Still, W. is miles ahead of Sarah.

Bush was nothing like Obama is....

While Bush was a "social" conservative, meaning more liberal on some social issues, he was still mostly a conservative and did right. Most of the bad said of Bush and Cheney is misrepresentative propaganda put out by leftists and adopted by some extreme right nuts such as Alex Jones & Dr. Jones.

I hate it when people make throwing the baby out with the bath water arguments and paint everyone with the same brush when they are actually nothing alike.

Bush made a couple of mistakes, and tried to make a couple, and we called him on them, but he was nothing like the left and Obama. Moral and intellectual relativism is the domain of idiots.

As an idiot, I think we are probably going to disagree on this. Still, that's what makes this board fun.

Well, there are reasons I say that however, not simply to name call.
People who think that a person or an issue is the same as another, or people who have no sure foundation of character, are people who are frankly tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine. They are people without the ability to discern good from evil, right from wrong, propaganda from facts and truth, etc.

For example, those who call Bush and Obama as the same or close, or similar etc. are just off in neverland. They don't have the knowledge and understanding and discernment to see that they are completely and in every way different from each other. The same for liberals and JKF. Most liberals love JFK..... but if he was living today, liberals would have been calling him a right wing nut like they called Bush. Bush and JFK wasn't much different from each other.

There are some big and important ideological reasons why Zell Miller left the Democratic party and spoke at the GOP convention. (you have to watch his speech on Youtube if you haven't yet). It's because that party has been taken over by leftists, the kinds that used to be condemned by both party's even, marxists, socialists, communists, etc.

Anyway, relativism is based on what "feels good" at the time. It's not based on unwavering truth and right, moral character, wisdom, etc. This life is about finding out who you are and can be by finding out what is really right, good, and true, and being the best you can be. If you're not engaged in that, then there is no such thing as truth and right, good and evil, etc. and you become no more than an animal. The universe is made up of law..... cause and effect, etc. Joseph Smith was really revolutionary in some of his words. Men are that they might have joy. “when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated.”

Our ability to govern ourselves according to law and truth right and wrong is what separates us, and what makes us truly special. When we allow ourselves to lo here and lo there, then we do ourselves and society itself a disservice. We all have our talents and place, but it is up to use to find it and magnify it. Again, otherwise, we are no more than an animal, living by his instincts and feelings, rather than instincts and wisdom. Which do you want to be? ;)
