Catholicism is a major part of Haitian life. So, it would make sense that catholic relief would be there. However, the situation is still a mess in Haiti.
Unfortunately, catholic schools in the NY area are closing because of a lack of funds.
I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world.

And that has what to do with CRS helping in Haiti? Oh that's right you can't comment on anything Catholic without including a negative spin, sorry I forgot.

Why Me,
I don't get it. You are negative about Catholics and positive about Mormons but you attend a Catholic church. What is up? And why was this moved out of the forum?

I agree that Haiti is a "Catholic country", and that NYC is going more secular by the day. Certainly there is an impact, in a lot of ways, for both geographical areas.
I'm thinking you're addressing what appears to be a funding disparity. If you read the history of CRS in Haiti, the struggle constantly with having enough resources (people, supplies, money, etc) has always been there. The earthquake, which by the way occurred a year ago yesterday, was one of those events that got worldwide attention and the money poured in, literally, from Catholics and non-Catholics. They received over $90 million in donations, which, they will use for many years to come.
In regards to your example in NY, it has its own problems. If schools are closing, it is because Catholics in the NY diocese are not supporting them. I suspect it has more to do with the secularism of large American urban areas, than it does with anything else. People are conforming to societal ideas that one's faith and one's life are not integrated.

Re: Catholics helping in Haiti
I'm sad that the mods moved this thread to the off-topic. It has many ties to the way Mormon's dealt with Haiti. I guess I should have said that at the beginning.
What if you had a religion that cared more about practical nuts and bolts of helping living people rather than the dead people's ordinances?
What if?
crickets chirping
Amazing.

Hi Z,
I didn't want you to listen to just crickets :). Sorry you were moved, I don't get it either.
For my two cents, all religions should help the needy. What good are they, otherwise?
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.
