Bayesian, Schmasian

Post by Res Ipsa »

Up in Terrestial, there’s quite a bit of discussion about the abuse of Bayesian statistics in order to claim that the Book of Mormon is the truest thing in the history of history.

Here in Paradise, we don’t know no fancy Bayesian crap. We use good old American frequentist statistics. None of that Reverend’s fancy letters and numbers with their pretentious airs.

But even regular old statistics can get mangled in a way that would make even the Interpreter Editors blush. Dominion filled a couple new lawsuits. And it turns out that one of OAN’s mathematical experts had been opining that the odds that the election was fair was 1/number of atoms in the universe.

Take that, you Bayesian lightweights. That’s good old fashioned frequentist stats. In your face!
