Someone needs to stand up for the right of consumers to get screwed. In this instance it happens to be Rand Paul. In another instance it could be Bernie Madoff. Both gentlemen could surely point to the many inconsistencies in those protection laws and law makers. Tell me my toilet is wasting water? Get flushed!

That part is illusory, he was really standing up for those doing the screwing by arguing against protective regulations.
