Book Proposal

If anyone needs to know how to lay out a Book Proposal, I have one online that was done to industry standards. This post is not an attempt to pitch my book because I am fairly sure the work will never sell as written. It is/was my first book. I learned a lot writing it. Yet, I needed to know what I know now, so I could have written it and published it for a broader audience. I limited my audience by self publishing and also having too much information and not enough storyline.

Yet, the proposal has an awesome pitch — a pitch for the angels — and a writer may benefit from using this proposal as a model. It is well written; but most importantly, it’s laid out correctly.

I spent a considerable amount of effort, time and money, creating the proposal. I hope someone can put it to use.

If anything, anyone interested may get a kick reading the proposal to see the struggles I went through to create a book.

Hoops,

Because the book was self published sales have been almost nonexistent from the very start. To make matters worse, it is only available in hardcover, which costs more than paperback, and what is sinking sales completely these days is that most people today are buying e-books.

Why not publish as an ebook as well?

Yeah, you should think ebook. I'm working on a nonfiction thingy and I think ebook is the only way to go. I think yours lends itself very well to that format.

Malkie and Hoops.

Thanks for your advice.

Yes. e-Book is the way to go these days. Yet, I am unsure what to do with this project right now. I would like to at least do a slight revision before re-formatting it, and, if or when I revise it I would like to find a full royalty house. Or, I might make it downloadable free on my site. I am praying about this and hoping to find a way to fulfill this calling right.
