The early economists had a solution for this. When there is not enough production for everyone to be employed the surplus population will die out.

If we are not willing to see that happen (and I don't think we are) then we need to seek other solutions.

Marx, not understanding economics, failed to note why companies minimize costs and stockpile cash. We can see an illustration of this in the passage of the new Obamacare legislation. When it was passed marks the time when job growth ceased. Employers know that health care costs are set to rise as the new law is implemented so they cut back on employment.

Another example would be the victory of conservsatives in Wisconsin against the unions. When collective bargaining was rolled back, school districts all of a sudden had more money and more leverage to bargain with insurance companies for reduced premiums.

So when the free flow of business is threatened by socialist policies, economic growth and wealth creation are stymied. The reality then is that marxists, like Obama and his administration, try to create crisis, blame it on the free market, and then come swooping in to establish governement control.

So considering the modus operandi of some liberals like Obama, perhaps Marx DID understand economics but knew if he mentioned all the factors, no one would buy into his ideology. Extending beyond economics, this is what AGW "scientists" did in order to promote their crackpot AGW theory.
