I get the Sunday edition of the Deseret News. The recent one, dated October 9 had two interesting articles that caught my eye. One on science that I have posted a link to, and one on the widening gap between rich and poor. While the article was more reporting in nature it seemed to be more sympathetic to the fact that this ever widening gap between the rich and poor is simply bad for America's future. In fact the article seems to advocate a more even distribution of wealth is needed in order to achieve a stronger a longer term healthy economy.
Here is the article:
http://www.deseretnews.com/article/7001 ... ealth.htmlBC you need to need to read the article. I am sure it will make you want to write a letter to the Deseret News and advocate that the liberal reported be dismissed and her TR revoked.

How many poor citizens do you think there are in the US? 20 million? 40 million? 60 million? More? Less?
If you taxed the top one percent at a 100% rate on income, how much could the deficit be reduced?

The Obama economic policies are terrible for the middle class. They discourage capital investment, such investment which would be guided by legions of middle-class managers.
They encourage shifts to non-productive sectors.
There's lots that could be said about this, and I was a life-long Democrat until last year.

Hallelujah! My Dad was a UC Berkeley Democrat until Clinton.

Well, I'm now a Republican but only because libertarians have no pull.

You were never a libertarian.

I'm kind of the same way.

Heaven forbid that middle class managers might have a little more control over where to invest! Oh, what travesty!

Did I say anything about raising taxes? I just was pointing out that the church owned Deseret News had an article with a rather liberal bend.
By the way to dig out of the fiscal mess we are in both taxes will have to be raised and spending cut. I am not sure now is the right time for either. But it both will have to happen at some point. Only fools think other wise.

You are lucky. BC would have been happy to yank your recommend. Bo comforted that he thinks all those years as a Democrat you were an anti Mormon.
