Is Mitt Romney dealing honestly with his fellow man?

Post by _DarkHelmet »

I find this story hilarious.

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/romn ... .KmRvxh7l_

especially this part.

Democrats on Tuesday took issue with the part of the ad that quotes Obama saying, "If we keep talking about the economy, we're going to lose," pointing out that Romney took the quote out of context. Obama used the line in 2008, but he was talking about his opponent, Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain, not his own campaign. What Obama did say at the time, was this: "Senator McCain's campaign actually said, and I quote, 'If we keep talking about the economy, we're going to lose.'" In response, the Democratic National Committee slammed Romney, calling him "a serial deceiver."

That's a blatant misrepresentation by Romney. He made a negative ad taking a quote from Obama quoting McCain from a negative ad against McCain out of context. It's actually so bad it's funny.

My guess is that it is supposed to be funny. I think it is called irony.

Sounds a lot like many a poster here. I'd point out examples but then we'd get people whining to me about not letting it go.

Stem is about to bring up, once again, He Who Should Not Be Named any moment now. I can feel it.

I actually like Mitt, and would vote for him over Obama, but that's not just a negative ad, it's a lie. This campaign is going to be fun:)

From Gospel Fundamentals

Our Father in Heaven Tells Us to Be Honest in All We Do
To be honest means to tell the truth. To be honest means to not lie or steal. When we say things that are not true, we are lying. When we tell only part of the truth, we are lying. When we lead people to believe something that is not true, we are not being honest.
“We look to not only the spiritual but also the temporal, and we believe that a person who is impoverished temporally cannot blossom spiritually.”

I think what that means is we shouldn't drink coffee.

For a smart guy who has made no major gaffs so far in the campaign, this is out of character and unnecessary.

I just hope the Democrats have the good sense to point this blatant lie out again and again and in no uncertain terms. Romney should be hit for this by the media until he apologizes and withdraws the ad.

If he does not do so, the Democrats should make the Romney campaign wear this as a badge of shame from now until election day.

While displays ignorance and stupidity seem to be okay if one is a Republican candidate for president, I doubt that blatant dishonesty will be so readily tolerated by the true believers.

I doubt they will want to do that since the original quote, Obama quoting McCain, was also a lie.
