Let's play movie quotes! (or not)

Post by _Jersey Girl »

Here's the deal. You have to guess the movie and the character who made the quote.

No Google cheating!!

Add your quotes and we'll guess them.

Here's a couple from me:

He's only a kid Harry. We can take him.

All my life I've stood up to everyone and everything, because it made me feel *important*. You do it... because you mean it.

Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering

Good luck and thanks for playing!

First one is Home Alone.
Character is the burglar who gets his hand and head fried.

What's that stench? It's fantastic.

Well, beatniks for one, folk singers, and motorbike riders. Y'know. All those hip, jazzy, super cool, neat, keen, and groovy cats. It's in the fridge, daddy-o! Are you hip to the jive? Can you dig what I'm layin' down? I knew that you could. Slide me some skin, soul brother!

Well how do you like that? Not so much as a "kiss my foot" or "have an apple".

Don't you know that a man being rich is like a girl being pretty? You wouldn't marry a girl just because she's pretty, but my goodness, doesn't it help?

Honey, time marches on and eventually you realize it is marchin' across your face.

This has to be Marilyn Monroe in something or other--I can hear her voice in my head. I'm going to go with How to Marry a Millionaire. Runners up: Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend (or the Monroe/Mansfield movie that song is from) and Some Like It Hot.

Right movie! It's Marv talking to Harry (the one who gets his hand and head fried).

Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn

We are no more in Kansas

by the way
I hate the quotes from movies. Hate, HATE, HATE!

We have a channel named "movies 24".
It plays movie quotes (escorted by monotonous tones) 240 times a day.
That two above are from there.

The channel call itself as "múvíz tventifór", the approximate Hungarian pronounciation of the English name. A channel in Hungary, which plays movies in H. language.
It plays 8-10 minute speech of directors, producers etc, speaking English, unsynchronized. A channel in Hungary.
It repeats the sound of dropping a bunch of key, 500 times a day. I have the feeling it may be even 5000 times.

I hate the advertisements in general. They add unnecessary cost to everything, and I am the one who should pay. (OK, this fits to the "free market capitalism" thread...)

Movie quotes jar on my nerves. Please JG, don't be embittered, I am a Homo Ludens.
- Whenever a poet or preacher, chief or wizard spouts gibberish, the human race spends centuries deciphering the message. - Umberto Eco
- To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin. - Cardinal Bellarmine at the trial of Galilei

From one of the best movies of all time :

What kind of addict would need all these coconut husksand crushed honeydew rinds ?
Would the presence of junkies account for all these uneaten french fries ?These puddles of glazed ketchupon the bureau ?Maybe so...but then why all this booze...and these crude pornographic photos smeared with mustard...that had dried to a hard, yellow crust? These were not the hoofprintsof your normal God-fearining junkie. It was too savage, too aggressive.
