“It was not my desire to go off and serve in Vietnam, but nor did I take any actions to remove myself from the pool of young men who were eligible for the draft,” Romney told the newspaper.
But that’s exactly what Romney did, according Selective Service records. He received his first deferment for “activity in study” in October 1965 while at Stanford.

Yep, and it is amazing how that evil "Liberal media" has given him a pass on this issue.

Yep, and it is amazing how that evil "Liberal media" has given him a pass on this issue.
For the same reason, John Kerry had to be Swift Boated. Democrats have failed and will probably continue to fail to recreate successful conservative grassroots action, all too rare in and of itself, and will continue to rely on failed media creations, union thuggery, race baiting, and "occupying". Their "successful" actions of the past have only led to the likes of Marx, Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Kim Jong Il, and Pol Pot.
But as the illusionary experience of the Vietnam War recedes in the minds of the crusty liberals who lost it, whether or not someone served in it has become a non issue though I guarantee as Obama flails around for something to attack Romney with, he will reach for this one and then he'll go for Romney's religion, perhaps in the last three or four days before the election, perhaps as early as just after the last debate were Romney trounces him.
Where are Obama's chooming buddies when needs them?

Good for Romney. Most young men were not happy about the prospects of going to Vietnam. Most young men tell lies as well. Usually Romney will say what he thinks people want to here.

Don't waste your time. Most republicans (middle class to rich) only pay lip service to our military in reality most of them are pussy's who will use any means to avoid service (Romney) to being placed far away from any action or expectations (bush) while it is the poor Americans (democrats and republicans) who actually put their lives on the line. Of course BC Space and others want to downplay the importance of Vietnam because their political leaders and family members were the same ones who used college and church missions to avoid the draft and really supporting our country with something
more than their mouth. May we respect the real vets and heroes and point out those who puss out.

The only thing conservatives understand about war is they need to find a way to make others fight and die instead of them. They also innately know how to make money on the deaths and misfortune of those who did the fighting.
The only thing conservatives are really good for is target practice
