Supreme Court Decisions
Here are three of the Supreme Court Decisions from this morning:
Supreme Court Arizona immigration ruling: Justices clear key part:

Supreme Court mostly rejects Arizona immigration law; gov says 'heart' remains:

Supreme Court permits no limits on state campaign funds:

Supreme Court rules mandatory juvenile life without parole cruel and unusual:

I agree with the Supreme Court's rulings on the Arizona immigration law and on the reinforcement of the Citizens United Decision. However, I disagree with the Supreme Court’s ruling on the mandatory juvenile to life without parole equals cruel and unusual punishment. The Huge Supreme Court Decision, which is on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) is scheduled to come out this coming Thursday.

Immigration
I'd call this a narrow victory for the Administration . Three of the four provision were struck down, and while the principle pf the first provision was upheld, its execution will still be subject to future legal challenges. I also thought it was interesting that Chief Justice Roberts joined Kennedy as a 'swing' vote. If Kagan hadn't recused herself, the vote would have been 6-3.

Same here.
The Huge Supreme Court Decision, which is on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) is scheduled to come out this coming Thursday.
Hoping for a complete repeal; to kill a costly new federal entitlement before it has a chance to take root and develop a constituency of beneficiaries and supporters.
But I think just the mandate most likely to die though it is hard to imagine how the coverage requirements would also not be struck down because those are based on the individual mandate being there to recoup costs.

Yes, And Isn't it ironic that when he was a Senator, Barack Obama voted against the confirmation of Justice John Roberts to the Supreme Court, while 22 Democrats in the Senate voted to confirm him to the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court is Not that Conservative of a Supreme Court now. Five of the Supreme Court Justices were appointed by a Republican President, while four of the Justices were appointed by a Democratic President. Justice Anthony Kennedy is indeed basically the swing vote on the Supreme Court now. Justice Anthony Kennedy was nominated by President Ronald Reagan after the Democratic-controlled Senate during that time rejected Robert Bork to the Supreme Court. The Senate then voted to confirm Justice Anthony Kennedy by a unanimous vote of 97 to 0.
I have seen a liberal hear refer to the Supreme Court here as the SCROTUS. However, the Supreme Court is Not really a Republican-controlled Supreme Court now.

Add to that Justice Souter was appointed by a Republican. An unearned gift for liberals.

That no limit to campaign spending by corporations will be a big boon for Republicans and others whose votes can be purchased. On the other hand it will make some lobbyist jobs unnecessary, adding to the unemployment rate.

Of course, especially in the Arizona case and noting Obama's retaliation, this amounts to Obama not doing his job to uphold the law or the constitution. Can you imagine the hue and cry raised, the calls of lawlessness and for impeachment etc. if a Republican president had failed to get a law passed to eliminate the capital gains tax and then issued an executive order for the IRS to stop collecting capital gains tax?

It's the most conservative Supreme Court in many years. Where do you get this stuff?
Here's an analysis that gets at this:

The administration's legal position in this case has nothing to do with Obama's enforcement policies.
But in response to your analogy, under the Bush administration prosecutions of polluters who refused to settle environmental cases dropped 70%. Bush's own selection to run the EPA, Christine Todd Whitman, resigned in frustration.
You could argue that they are not the same thing, and you'd be right. One has to do with not prosecuting people who poison our air and water, and the other has to do with not deporting people who have lived in this country since they were children.
