This is bad news for Obama as it will significantly strengthen the grassroots movements against him and his Party and increase turnout of the "religious right" (actually mainstream America).

How is this bad news for Obama? These rednecks were going to vote against him anyway. We're not talking about new recruits against Obama here. National polls indicate that people are more and more becoming tolerant of homosexual marriage, so if you think Obama standing up for Gay Rights is going to hurt him, then you're an idiot. It will attract more moderates while the bigots who will vote against him, were going to do so anyway.

For your information, Cumming Georgia (discussed in your link) is about 15 miles from where I live, pretty much out in the boonies. And it is about as deep in redneck Right Wing fanaticism as one can get. Gee, I wonder why WND chose that store?!

These restaurants are generally packed every day anyway. In fact I've been there a few times on Tuesdays because they have specials for kids, and they're always slammed packed.

Funny how this article doesn't provide any anecdotal evidence form metropolitan areas like Orlando or San Francisco.

In any event, the article cites a corporate representative saying they haven't released any figures about increased traffic, so you're really just guessing here.

In the end what does all this prove? These folks buying overpriced chicken are idiots, so let them waste more of their money for all I care.

Christian Chicken or Diabolical Plot?

Sure, this sounds good on the surface. Support good Christian Chicken, Holy Roasters. I get it. What God-fearing American doesn't want to slaughter chickens in a sacrament to reaffirm their commitment to traditional marriage?

But don't you see? We're falling into a diabolical trap set by the Obama Administration! They secretly WANT us to eat these chickens! And I'm going to tell you why:

Just ask youself, if you're a farmer, which chickens are the first ones you're going to sell? Why the ones that don't lay eggs, of course! Now what kind of chickens don't lay eggs?

LESBIAN CHICKENS!!!

This is all part of a secret plot, hatched by Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, The Ford Foundation, Ellen DeGeneris, The Trilateral Commission, The Muslim Brotherhood and Tyson Chicken. Tyson Chicken! As in Arkansas! As in the Clintons!

Lesbian Chickens! Sitting around in their air-conditioned cages all day, never doing a lick of work, never having sex with a rooster! They don't even bother to get their own food! It's brought to them! Government-subsidized corn feed! These chickens are on the dole! THEY ARE WELFARE LESBIAN CHICKENS!

And if YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT, what does eating welfare lesbian chickens make you? Why a homosexual afraid to fight America's enemies, that's who! Meanwhile, no one is eating beef, and cattle are roaming wild in the streets, just like India! We must fight back before it's too late!

It's all here in my new book "WELFARE LESBIAN CHICKENS: WHAT EVERY GOOD CHRISTIAN AMERICAN NEEDS TO KNOW", a World Net Daily Exclusive*.

*Produced in conjunction with the American Beef Council.

from Conan O'Brien: 'Chaz' the Intolerant Chicken Mascot

this chicken mascot is essentially how all decent americans view people like you now, bcspace -- a puppet and a punchline.

On the 10 PM news, the story said the national Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day was so successful in West Jordan, Utah that they had to close early because they ran out of Chicken, despite having extra on hand for the occasion. Most successful business day ever.

I wonder if all the Mormons who ran out to support Chick-Fil-A because of its founder's stance on gay marriage realized that they were simultaneously supporting its founder's stance that Mormonism is a non-Christian cult?

We pretend not to notice that they think we are a Satanic cult; in exchange they pretend not to notice that Mitt is a Mormon. Everybody's satisfied.

i'm really happy that this Bigot Pride event was so successful.

i stopped patronizing Chick-Fil-A in early 2011 when i first heard about their financial support for anti-gay groups. but i was a little discouraged that most other fair-minded liberals and independents i encountered were either unaware of CFA's connections, or (choosing their battles) disinclined to make a big issue out it.

but thanks to Huckabee and company, eating at CFA is now firmly linked in the public imagination with support for christian fundamentalism. and so millions of decent people who would never have previously thought to make a political statement by their choice of fast food chicken will now feel forced to take sides -- after all, if they do keep going there, will their friends and associates assume they are some kind of gay-hating teabagger?"
