It's a hot new trend -- conservatives making political statements by buying more fattening junk food.
Hate the gays? Go buy some chicken sandwiches to show it.
Hate the president? Prove it by buying some pastries.
My favorite part of the story is the reason the shop owner gave for not letting the VP come by. He was angry about the "didn't build that" remark. So essentially his reason was a lack of comprehension. Either that or this guy really did build all the roads and sidewalks that let people get to his place. You never know.
