Who gives more?

http://www.patheos.com/blogs/paperbackt ... trend.htmlThe Bureau of Labor Statistics’ latest survey of consumer expenditure found that the poorest fifth of U.S. households contributed an average of 4.3 percent of their incomes to charitable organizations in 2007. The richest fifth gave at less than half that rate, 2.1 percent.
How much did the Obamas give in 2010? 14.2 percent – compared with Ryan’s 1.2 percent – and Santorum’s 1.7 percent. Romney was far more generous, largely through tithing – but he was still beaten in percentage terms by Obama in 2010.
But it’s Ryan who is the most prominent advocate of replacing state care with private charity. It’s just that others will have to supply the charity. Judging by his past, he sure won’t.

The one true Church of Christ gives less than 1% of it's income to charity.
It gives 71.4% of its income to commercial ventures.
This means that Romney's claimed charitable donation is not all going to charitable causes.
71.4% of it appears to be going to commercial ventures and less than 1% of his donated 14?% ends up going to actual charity.
Bill Gates on the other hand...

When are you people going to stop lying....???
Church TITHING ONLY GOES TO it's SPIRITUAL FUNCTIONS (churches, materials, mission work, ward functions/activities etc.).
The business side of the Church is completely separate.
And before you cry about saint's of history, that the money had to "first" come from somewhere, well guess what, Mormons have been "donating" to the Church well BEYOND Tithing to assist the Church in it's 3 fold (now 4 fold) mission. Proclaim the Gospel, Redeem the Dead, Perfect the Saints, Assist the Needy.

by the way aussieguy..... Your stats ignore several important things.
One particular one I want to point out is that those "rich" you wish to be critical of, create businesses and jobs, businesses which ALSO donate to all kinds of causes from medical research grants, to schools, and on and on. One of my children for example got an Ipod for winning a reading contest at school. That didn't come out of thin air....
Further, those people who have those jobs ALSO donate money.....
Further, those rich people take less pay because the vast majority of them in their business donate so much.
Thus, your "stat" that the rich donate less than the poor is seriously flawed from the get go.
There are other ways and reasons also why your stats are flawed, but I'll let you figure those out if you're actually interested in the truth rather than one sided propaganda. Of course, since I know you're not interested in the truth, but only in your "politics of envy" hate, you won't.
Enjoy.

You do not know where the money goes because the Church keeps tat information a secret.

We know the "policy"..... Things aren't as "hidden" as you think.
Anyone that has worked or been associated with the Bishopric, Stake Presidency, Church Headquarters, top leaders etc. know very well the policy's and standards of the Church and where and what the money does.
In other words, those of us who are Mormon and are well active know.
Every single Mormon doesn't have to know every single detail to know the "main" policy's and standards of the Church.
I've told you a fact concerning Church policy and activity, it's not my problem if you prefer to believe conspiracy and the most negative of fantasy's over those of us who actually know.

Sadly you are delusional.
In the UK the Church is forced by law to publish accounts.
Tithing receipts run at circa £27 million per annum.
Salaries and administrative accounts run at circa £27 million per annum.
Not a penny goes to humanitarian causes, nor to the poor and needy.
Now that is a fact.

Your "facts" are cherry picked perversion of the truth.....
I've looked at the stat's myself and know for a fact you're lying.

Not stats.
Published financial accounts.
Fact.
You can verify this by opening an account at 'Companies House Direct' and downloading the last three years worth of management accounts.
