Racist: "I voted for Barack because he was black"

For more than 24 hours, the internet has been abuzz with the New York Post's revelation that actor Samuel L. Jackson told Ebony magazine he only voted for Barack Obama in 2008 "because he was black."
For some reason, the folks at the Huffington Post thought this was a "surprising confession" (photo courtesy Getty):
Samuel L. Jackson made a surprising confession in the March issue of Ebony.
"
I voted for Barack because he was black. Cause that’s why other folks vote for other people — because they look like them," Jackson said, according to the New York Post.
He contended that Obama's message wasn't important, since he believes most politicians will say anything to get elected.
Did author Alana Horowitz find it surprising that a black person would vote for Obama just because of the color of his skin or that someone would actually admit it?
The following sentence suggests the former: "However, not everyone in the community thinks race is enough of a reason to vote for Obama."
Not everyone in the community thinks race is enough of a reason to vote for Obama.
Interesting comment given how liberal media outlets like the Huffington Post have been telling people for over three years that any white person that didn't vote for Obama in 2008 was racist.
Doesn't that therefore make Jackson a racist?
Not surprisingly, folks on the left including the Huffington Post are uncomfortable voicing such an obvious conclusion.

It just exposes Samuel L. Jackson as, for all intents, a racist, and indicates that he believes that everyone else sees the world and all relationships in it through the same race-colored glasses he wears.
The ugly little secret here is the truly shocking degree to which these and allied attitudes exists among large numbers of American blacks, and even those at Jackson's very rarefied socioeconomic level (and in Hollywood).

You use it well, darling! It's like ringing the bell every time you are right. Maybe a fairy gets its wings, too!

Well, we already know it is a ton because Romney dominated the Jell-O belt despite not being the sort of religious right darling candidate that usually performs well in that area. Indeed, that was his chief opposition.

In 2008, John McCain received the vote of 85% of white voters in Alabama. Coincidence?
