Will Hurricane Sandy give the election to Romney?

What if many voters in the Obama States can't make it to the polls?

Will that lead to challenges to the election?

Will the law firm of Yahoo Bot, Selek and McConkie, representing the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, file an amicus brief citing Hurricane Sandy as an act of God?

I think that this Storm will help Romney win the Popular vote, but not really the Electoral College.

If it does give Romney the election, the only explanation is it was sent from God.

This would only really hurt Obama if the election were decided on popular vote. As it is, the states affected by the disaster are so pro Obama that he is still guarateed their electoral votes.

As others have pointed out, unless the destruction from the hurricane somehow prevents more Obama voters from voting than Romney voters, and so electoral college votes that would have gone to Obama go to Romney, it won't make a difference.

If anything, it might allow Obama to win Jersey and NY by bigger margins because of all the 1 percenters who lost their beachfront property and might not bother to go to the polls. The other states probably affected Romney and Obama supporters equally.

Things are a little out of hand in some areas. Obama has made it very plain he's in charge and though I personally wouldn't blame him for these problems short term (which is all he has left anyway), the sheeple may indeed blame him and that would sway voters though in NY and New Jersey I can't imagine any real gains for Romney there other than perhaps a house seat or two.

Con Edison has said that the majority of people will have power restored by Nov 10-11. Plenty of time for the people to get angry and blame Obama. One wouldn't think so but we know how people are sometimes.
