Don't count your chickens yet, PP. As I type this I'm seeing Obama: 256, with Romney: 191, but there are still big states left to declare. It could still go either way. I'm on pins and needles here.

Oh snap, that was CNN, NBCnews.com is now projecting an Obama victory. I don't know on what basis yet, but that's what they're saying.
Ok, let the whining begin.
edit: oh sweet, I see what did it: they're projecting Obama wins in Florida, though that's with 90% of the precincts reporting, and it's 50% to 49%. I wonder if that's really as rock solid as we'd like? Time will tell.
2nd edit: Hmm, the data I'm seeing on CNN and NBCnews.com show very tight margins of only 15-30k votes in Ohio and Florida, with double-digit percentages of precincts still to report. I'm not sure how comfortable I am with calling it still that close.

Well nobody better ran. Imagine how badly it would have gone if Rick Perry or Michelle Bachmann had won the nomination. Or (snort) Newt Gingrich. Or 999 guy. Of the Republicans who actually threw their hat into the ring, I have come to believe only Romney even had a shot.

Holy crap, I just went to foxnews.com and they're projecting Obama wins too, so that probably settles it. Not that I think Fox News is more honest - on the contrary - but if there was still a shred of hope Romney might win, they could be counted on to latch onto it and hold on till the bitter end. They're the proverbial fat lady of this election.

I'm definitely feeling that as well. Romney is getting creamed and he was the best of the bunch. You can bet in 4 years it will be Paul Ryan at the top of the ticket. We have seen the last of Mitt Romney and the Mormons for a while.
