I don't want to get into a discussion of political issues, but I'm curious. A lot of people on this board have very strong opinions about politics and the results of the past election. What I'm wondering is how involved you were in the political process. Did you work for a candidate or ballot measure? Did you contribute time or money to a campaign? Did you attend a caucus or convention? Did you even vote? Or did you limit your political action to whining on this board?

I don't claim to be the most politically active person, but I did volunteer this election cycle. A friend of mine is our party's county chair, so I was able to get some volunteer assignments from him making phone calls to get people out to the caucus and to vote in the primary and general election. I didn't donate a lot of money this time, as money's been tight this year. Also, another friend ran for a local office, and we helped distribute mailers and signs for her. I think she's the only candidate I voted for who won this year.

I work graveyard shift, which makes it dificult for me to volunteer. In 2008 I took a week of vacation the week of the election off to work full time as a volunteer.

Compared to Sheldon Adelson, I don't give much money, but in terms of how it affects my lifestyle, I give more.

what possible question do you hope to satisfy by assessing the level of "activity" of any given protester or celebrator?

Is there some sort of threshold one must cross before being allowed to voice their opinion in America?

Nope, just curious. I just wondered, given the intense animosity here a few weeks ago, how many people on either side participated in the process. I wondered if the intensity of the opinion correlated to the level of activity.

I voted and donated a little money. I do not have the time to volunteer, but my mother and niece did so.
