I have always had an irrational fear of ventriloquist dolls I think it started when my father gave me a ventriloquist doll for Christmas. It also didn't help that around the same time the movie "Magic" starring Anthony Hopkins came out.
Magic was about a ventriloquist doll who switches souls with Anthony Hopkins. It was a stupid movie, but scared the bejesus out of me.
It got to the point that I couldn't even sleep in the same room as my doll. I finally manned up and told my father that I thought the doll was going to posses me. He was very understanding and we ended up giving my doll to Deseret Industries. But even today I haven't been able to overcome my fear.
Anyone else want to share their innermost fears?
