How special is US Citizenship?

You know for years I've been told by Republicans that being born on American soil should make all the difference in the world about what rights and privileges you receive in this world. For instance, when certain Islamic terrorists were treated as though they had the same rights as Americans, Right Wingers freaked out and insisted they deserved no rights at all because they weren't US citizens. They use this same thought process to justify rejecting politicians they feel could have been born on foreign soil (i.e. Obama). That's how special it must be to be born on US soil.

Right?

Wrong.

Now Republicans are trying to push legislation that would deny citizenship to certain people who are born in this country. First up on the chopping block? "Anchor babies."

Yeah, nothing racist about this at all. Suddenly their sacrosanct doctrine of "American birth = deserving special rights and freedoms," gets thrown out the window... why? Because their hatred of brown skinned, non-English speaking foreigners is more important to them:
