Oh Oh Oh, I have one....

When my son attended a local community college (the tuition for which I paid), his algebra teacher wasted ten or fifteen minutes at the begining of each class giving angry conservative rants which included such gems as "we should nuke every man woman and child in North Korea".
He shouted at, and mocked, any student who disagreed with his various misguided points most of which were recognizable tidbits from talk radio. The guy was, a few years earlier a graduate student at my university and I had seen him around and had gathered that he was a rather lack luster student. I confronted him and politely suggested that he should be teaching algebra during class time instead of suggesting genocide. All I got was a defiant rant on on some topic probably North Korea.

So.....following Droopy's thougtful and circumspect way of coming to conclusions about the world, I guess I should say this is what happens when we have conservatives teaching our children.

Check and checkmate!

LOL

Doesn't sound conservative to me. Killing their leaders and converting the rest to Christianity sounds closer to conservativsm.

This is merely the standard reaction of liberals to the falsifying of their whole perspective and outlook on life.

Every semester my son has had at least one conservative professor who spends part of the class time sharing his views.

There even have been a couple who have inserted their conservative Christian views into class time.

Has the fact that Tarski was applying Droopy's logic about Liberal professors, completely escaped you? Yes, as does most things. Like the fact that you think I'm the only one to bring up FOX News, despite the village idiots relying on it as their source all the time (i.e. this thread recently started by bcspace).

did you not see the animation???

regarding the thread started by bcspace...are you claiming that FOX was inept by posting actual video footage of Clinton and thus misrepresented her?
And did bcspace offer any opinion that echoed Fox? actually was there anything misleading, misinformed, or otherwise about that thread's OP?

The difference, among other things, that you are unable to discern is that you are very specific in your use of FOX whereas no one else is....by that i mean no one is ever guilty of using FOX in the manner which you claim. Yes, FOX and every single other news agency has its share of op-eds looney tunes...but that seems to escape you to the point of denial and embarrassment.

regarding tarski's OP
anecdotal and one can consider it as being just "made up" as a means to refute...whereas the documentation otherwise is abundant.
and besides..when speaking about "this is what happens"...exactly what happened?
otherwise the circular nature was being continued in ordered to negate any notion of "checkmate"...it is at best a stalemate.
(think in terms of "i know you are, but what am i ")

You mean you are calling me a liar.

The point is that to think that a correct impression can be gleened from a highly edited video of one small portion of one class among many hundreds for one apparently odd professor among many professors in one university among many many thousands of universities is simply idiotic.
But typical of the way Droopy and BCSpace operate.

I went to college for 9 years and have taught at a university for 30+ years and I cannot recall personally seeing politics even being brought up in any class other than a politics class (although there was my son's algebra teacher at the community college as I said). I have not seen one single instance, outside of that suspect video Droopy posted, of a professor trying to brow beat a student. I am sure it happens but it must be rare since I can't be that astronomically lucky. Even a hundred such instances would be tiny given the number of classes taught and the many thousands of colleges and universities out there.

I am sure it would be easy to capture a nutty ranting Mormon on video somewhere. Would it make a legitimate point about Mormons in general? No and Droopy knows it. But fairness and circumspection aren't his strong points

On the other hand, professors should have a reasonable freedom to express themselves and if that includes an occasional passionate politcal opinion then so what? I am sure you wouldn't complain if a professor mentioned Jesus or favored a rightwing viewpoint --now would you?

As to Droopy's claim that professors are more likely to be democrats, all I can say is "so what"? Are you assuming it is a crime or something? People do what they think is right.

By the way, my OP is a silliness designed to highlight the silliness of Droopy's mind. Your tone suggests you kinda missed that. You shouldn't think my anecdote is significant and certainly not think that this one odd video clip of Droopy's is significant either.

Futhermore, deep concern about the effects of mismanagement of the environment on our children's children is hardly madness. Indeed, not to care is the madness. They laughed at the prophets too and I am sure they were some pretty weird socially clumsy individuals who came across as foaming at the mouth from the point of view of the "cool", "all is well in zion" types out in the street.
It is pretty ironic that a religionist like yourself would object to a passionate preachy rant by an unusual individual.

You are absolutely right Bcspace, although you might also add getting some exclusive import agreements after the killings.
