Mitt's son has reportedly been approached by Republican officials about the possibility of running in an April special election to fill John Kerry's seat.

Have a connection to the commonwealth of Massachusetts? Interested in politics? How does a run for John Kerry's vacated Senate seat sound?

These have become familiar questions in Boston political circles, where names ranging from Sen. Ted Kennedy's widow Vicki Kennedy to former Democratic Mass. Gov. Michael Dukakis were mentioned as possible fillers for the interim seat, as well as former Republican Mass. Sen. Scott Brown and actor Ben Affleck for the permanent position.

Now, with Democrat Mo Cowan appointed as interim senator and Brown removing his name from contention, there's another high profile name who may throw his hat into the ring: Tagg Romney.

The Boston Herald reports that Romney, 42, whose father Mitt recently lost his bid to supplant Barack Obama as president of the United States, is considering a run for the vacated seat in an April 30 special election.

Tagg, Mitt's eldest son and a father of six, currently runs the venture capital firm Solamere, though he's no stranger to politics. He was heavily involved in both of his father's presidential campaigns in 2008 and 2012. He shouldn't count on name recognition alone, though: Mitt lost Massachusetts by 23 points to Barack Obama in last year's election.

After two campaigns on behalf his father, if he runs and does not win will he be a Three Time loser?

Mitt is not especially liked in Mass. right now. I don't think Tagg will have much of a chance if there is a primary run off. Even less of a chance if he is the nominee.

The names 'Mitt' and 'Tagg' sound like they belong in Sarah Palin's family.

With Scott Brown declining to run, the Republicans are in kind of a quandary.

Wish Tagg would run in Utah against Senator Mike Lee. A pure blooded Patrician would have to be better than a cutthroat conservative fueled by right-wing ideology rather than money.

Wake up Republicans, Mitt didn't win any of his "home states", including Massachusetts.
