Ida in the Northeast

Post by Jersey Girl »

Welp. Ida has obviously hammered the hell out of Jersey and the city. Tornadoes in part of the state, flash flood warnings over most of the state. Kearny, Bayonne, Newark, and shore points all the way down to Camden, were taking on water in the streets. Subway system flooded in the city. Pretty sure the power is out down the shore since we've been trying to raise family via cell, and...nothing. Calls won't go through.

The last I saw on Facebook last night was a video of the flooding by a relative saying that they haven't seen anything like this since hurricane Sandy. Sandy, which totally demolished the shore.

Anyway, thinking of family and all of our posters back east. And waiting...

Okay so we got through to one family. So apparently down the shore it wasn't bad at all. Rain, some flooding which is nothing of any consequence today. Seems like from about Edison and up got hit the hardest. And of course, the reports on the city don't look great.

If you were someone who (or someone whose child) depended on in-home medical equipment or someone who needed medical transport in a storm that flooded the area, you wouldn't make such cavalier remarks about people involved in a natural disaster.

Get back in your clown car.
