For I don't care what happens to it, use [disposablename]@mailinator.com. Useful for registering on sites, for the click through activation, for any site that wants to add you to a mailing list.
For more permanent accounts, gmail or hotmail. Use these for long term accounts that you want to create under aliases that don't map back to your in real life information. Then use these to communicate with those who are prone to divulge your in real life on the webs. Then what they think is in real life data, isn't. Or to register a new user account on a site that has blocked your old account. Use a proxy to circumvent an ip block.
Remember to keep your accounts straight and to be diligent in which maps to where. Password safe or somesuch is a good solution for password and notes managements on the accounts.
