The First Date Thread!

Hey folks!
As we all obsess about Mormonism, Mormon apologetics, who has been on a trip to Isreal, what the definition of ethical is, etc, etc.
I thought it might be interesting to put all that on the shelf and take a moment to get to know one another a little better.
Although it has been a long time since Ceeboo has experienced a first date, I would imagine that they are still a time to discuss a variety of things that let others know a little more about who we are breaking bread with.
I'll start;
I have been coaching my 11 year old boy's (the real Ceeboo) youth baseball team for 4 years now. In addition to absolutely loving it, it has given us (Dad and Son) some GREAT and VERY PRECIOUS SHARED memories together that I am extremely fond of as well as very grateful for!
Your turn!
Tell me/us something about you that would never come up on the main board.
Peace,
Ceeboo

Coaching youth baseball would be a blast! I'd have to reel in my stat-geekness a bit, though. Calculating little Timmy's wOBA and "Four-Seam" Jorge's xFIP would probably be rather over the top.
I love baseball, particularly the statistical analysis side of it. My favorite genre of music is classical, though I also listen to a lot of "classic rock". I do sleight-of-hand card tricks (David Blaine "street magic" type stuff), mostly for the amusement of my nieces. I enjoy writing wretched poetry and reading quirky prose (a recent favorite from Bulwer-Lytton's 'Paul Clifford': "Beautiful Evening! For thee all poets have had a song, and surrounded thee with ... sheep, and bats, and melancholy, and owls.")

Awesome!
Classical music? Way cool!
Good stuff, Bret!
Do you have any of this wretched poetry that you would like to and/or could share with me/us?
Peace,
Ceeboo

Why would I want to inflict that upon you? Why would you want to inflict that upon yourself? One that I was most proud of was once described as "a pretentious, semi-pornographic piece of piss." And that's just what *I* said about it. (To be honest, I only described it as "semi-pornographic" to broaden its appeal.)
But since you twist my arm, here is a (mercifully) short bit of silliness I posted on alt.religion.Mormon many moons ago. It was in response to a new apologist who showed up to defend the authenticity of the Book of Mormon as a genuinely ancient document. In his post, he included the line "I'm your huckleberry." Even though his post elicited responses, he was never heard from again. After an appropriate period of silence, I posted the following and dedicated it to drive-by apologists everywhere:
Consider the huckleberry:
A cheerful chap and seldom wary.
He soweth not and neither doth reap;
He wanteth for nothing because talk is cheap.
But when left to his own devices
(And not used in cobblers or sauces or ices)
On the branch will readily spoil:
Yesterday's promise returned to the soil.
And shall we be haunted by huckleb'rries past?
Will no fruitful voices dog us at last?
So do not despise today's huckleberry!
But find yourself apt to chuckle? Very.

I went on my first date when Bush 41 was President.
I went on my Mission when Clinton was President.
I lost my virginity when Bush 43 was President.
I have Never been married, and I do Not have any children.

Not bad!
Not bad at all!
Thanks, Bret!

Do you want to get married and/or have children? (I'm not proposing to you with that question, just curious)
Peace,
Ceeboo

Well, I advertised it as wretched so I guess "not bad" constitutes a failure of sorts.
(Did you catch the oblique reference to Daws Butler?)

Maybe not first date material, but I've been spat upon by a camel, vomited on by a second camel, and kicked by a third. These things occurred over the space of several years, none of them happened at a zoo, and I have never visited a country to which camels are indigenous. Camels just have it out for me, apparently.
