Father charged after 9-year-old son drives his Ferrari Charges have been brought against a man who allowed his 9-year-old son to drive his Ferrari, according to police in the southern Indian state of Kerala.
Inspector M.V. Verghese said that Mohammed Nisham had been charged with endangering the life of a child and allowing a minor to drive.
Two weeks ago Mr Nisham's wife had filmed the boy driving the high-powered sports car on his ninth birthday, with his 7-year-old brother sat alongside him in the passenger seat.
Indian police said Mr Nisham, who has a thriving tobacco and real estate business, owns a stable of 18 cars worth an estimated $4 million.
The video went viral soon after being posted on YouTube and has prompted outrage across India.
The boy's parents are unabashed. "I am proud of him. He's been driving since he was 5," said his mother, Amal Nisham.
She said the boy has also driven the family's Lamborghini and Bentley and other cars.
"It was his ninth birthday, and since he was insisting for months, we allowed him to drive the Ferrari. He is a cautious and confident driver," she told television channel NDTV.
"It's not easy for a child to achieve such a feat at this young age," she added.

Ludwigm might blow a gasket trying to answer that one. Most leftists never have gotten past their overwhelming, totalitarian desire to control, but at the same time recoil at what that actually means in application.

I have no doubt that Ludwig will easily give you an intelligent answer.
Most rednecks don't seem to grasp the difference between Communism and Socialism. It's similar to the difference between Fascists and Republicans.

No.
The perfect answer! I've always thought that less is better (you may see that in my posts).
I have a dear friend that spent a few months working in Budapest many years ago (Soviets were still in power).
He went with an interpreter to find a present to send home to his wife. In a little shop in Budapest he found a lady that made embroidered quilts. He asked (through the interpreter) how much for one he would like to buy.
She gave a very long answer in Hungarian. His interpreter said that she decided she wasn't selling anything that day. My friend told the interpreter that he knew she said much more than that and he wanted to know what she really said.
Interpreter, quoting the lady "You are an American. Your wealth disgusts me. I would not sell you anything no matter how much you are willing to pay."
Is that attitude changing?

This isn't a loaded question. I'm just interested in hearing the perspective of someone who actually lived under communism.
How can you be a leftist and not miss communism?

Much inspirational...
