Gasoline Prices: Obama beats Bush

Not that Presidents have any control over this. I thought I'd mention it since Republicans continue to spin the data to attack Obama on gas prices whenever they go up.
Gasoline Prices
Gasoline prices — not included in our graphic — have remained volatile, but have yet to equal the record $4.11 national average price for regular that was seen in July 2008.
The price when Obama first took office was an unusually low $1.85 per gallon, held down by the worldwide economic recession he inherited. It later more than doubled to a high of $3.97, in May 2011. Last week it was $3.54, an increase of 92 percent since he first took office, but still well short of the record.
