I can't tell you how good it felt to finally hear some good news, which was the House of Representatives passing the resolution to defund the expansion of Medicaid and welfare insurance with increased expense to working middle class taxpayers, a.k.a. the affordable care act.

Socialism may consume 65% of the wages of every working American soon and perhaps Obamacare will soon roll through American communities like Soviet tanks through a weakened eastern Europe. But it will not be this day!

Obamacare is the worst disaster to consume this nation since social security, another unsustainable program that we will never get rid of. And yet, I think Obamacare is even worse.

I hope they do shut the government down. The only thing this government ever gave me was a tax to pay for some other man's children and some Wall Street Bankers Yacht! Good riddance!

Amen. However, they're too cowardly to go through with it and they can't seem to remember that after threatening to shut down the government, the Republicans swept into power in the mid 90's bringing us a balanced budget, reduced welfare rolls, etc.

I don't think playing the center is going to win the Republicans any elections. It sure didn't work for Mitt Romney. Even when I know we're outnumbered and the situation is futile, the Tea party makes me believe in America again.

Maybe it would be easier to have Moksha invent a program for us that we could finance through tax and spend government ethic. Shoulder to the wheel? That's so Republican Moksha. If it's such a disaster, why don't the repubs just stop fighting it so hard and let it fail? It should be easy to reverse when everyone sees it failing. Of course the truth is that the reason for their current desperate action is fear that it will actually work and be popular.

Oops, better not offend the elderly with talk like that. Social Security and Medicare recipients make up the Republican voting base (not to mention the tea party wing of the GOP).

You're right. It will be ten days from now. But it is amusing to watch the House GOPers tilting at windmills in their delusion that anything they are doing now will make any difference.

But in all honesty, most of them know it won't work. This is really just an act to placate the radical right. They even pretend not to realize that shutting down the government will not stop the ACA from being implemented.

The solution is not a socialistic scheme that punishes middle class working people and rewards unwed motherhood.

I also have to go to work today. I don't take welfare insurance. So most of my clientele can only come to see me on Saturday when they're off work.
