Aww!! That brings back such memories. My grandpa had a dairy farm, I spent my summers there when I was very young. I only remember rows and rows of milking machines, and the pond. Not that I ever saw grass like that in the desert.

It's glorious isn't it? I've actually been subbed to that channel for at least 3 years now. I don't watch it religiously but I do check in to see what's up on Tom Pemberton's farm and the practices he uses. It might be childhood memories of our neighbor's dairy farm in NYS where I was born and later used to visit in summer. Like you, I have some precious and vivid memories of the barn, milking machines, what they called the ice house and of the neighbor's wife skimming the cream off fresh milk to make us hot cocoa the old fashioned way. Also riding the hay wagon out to the field to pick up hay bales and riding high on the bales when returning to the silo...so high you could pick the apples off their trees on the ride around the house and up behind the barn to unload!

I'm SO glad to have memories like that, aren't you? So many treasures stored up in our minds!
